SAS Australia 2020: What Schapelle Corby was put through was cruel
I really liked the sound of Channel 7’s new show SAS Australia, which has been described as ‘arguably the most grueling and challenging reality show the country has ever seen.’
Brilliant, I thought. Reality TV is reading the global room. It is interesting and voyeuristic, but without the bitchy popularity component. There is no voting or elimination; it’s a test of mental and physical endurance.
There isn’t even a winner among the cast of seventeen famous faces. Instead, the recruits can choose when they want to leave.
Finally, something that doesn’t feel exploitative or… ‘ratings grabby’ and trashy.
